 Hello!

I’m Bryony, an author-illustrator and general stuff-maker from the South coast of England, in love with vibrant colour and beautiful picture books, and I make playful, character-driven work packed with fun, silliness, and lovely inky textures. I love to illustrate for children, but my style lends itself to a wide variety of applications and audiences – in the past I’ve had work licensed or commissioned by clients such as Storytime Magazine, Mighty Kind Magazine, Samsung, Tesco Books, Powell Publishing, Purely Boys, Haystack Records and Digital Artist Magazine, for projects ranging from magazine illustrations and tutorials, to greetings cards, point of sale, surface pattern design, and CD artwork.

After graduating I was chosen as an illustration semi-finalist in the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, and the following year won the Sky Arts Ignition: Creative Wish Brighton prize, voted for by the public.

I was also part of the Pathways Plus 23/24 cohort which allowed me to really develop my skills and picture book portfolio over a year of intensive workshops with amazing publishing professionals and illustrators. In 2024 Pop Up Projects chose me to be one of their 13 emerging illustrators to be included in the ‘Children for Change‘ climate anthology, featuring stories, illustrations and features from over 80 of UK’s greatest writers and illustrators, emerging illustrators and young writers inspiring young readers to ‘take an action’ – big or small, local or global – to protect our environments.
